"Customers with the ability to buy a corporate jet, but yet to buy their own aircraft are potential clients for leasing, and there is a huge demand," said Xiao.
The demand for corporate jets of an economy with a GDP of $1 trillion is 250, which means China, with about $9.24 trillion GDP, needs more than 2,300 business jets, according to Xiao.
There were about 252 corporate jets registered in the Chinese mainland as of the end of March, a growth of 11 percent year-on-year, according to Xinhuanet.com.
VistaJet looks to achieve 5 percent market share in China within three years.
VistaJet started operating international flights in and out of China in 2008. It currently has offices in Hong Kong and Beijing, and it is about to launch an office in Shanghai in the next 12 months.
VistaJet's more than 50 large-cabin, long-range Bombardier Challenger and Global aircraft have, to date, visited more than 180 countries, landed at 1,320 airports worldwide, logged about 70,000 flights and carried 165,000 passengers since its first flight in 2004.
Apex Air was founded in July 2014, and it currently offers services of business flights, aircraft escrow, general aviation charter flight, flight rental, air tours and fly clubs in China.
