Fang Yueping, a 34-year-old woman with a master's degree, has given up her work in a big city and turned to the countryside for an entrepreneurial life.
Fang graduated from East China University of Science and Technology in 2008, and then worked in a research lab in Shanghai. She became a village official after taking an exam in 2011, and then worked in a rural area in Fengxin county of East China's Jiangxi province.
There she helped local residents plant high-quality paddy rice using modern science and sells the crop at the market. Members of the group she organized has reached nearly 600 people and they have planted more than 466.6 hectares of paddy rice.
Besides planting crops, Fang also wants to develop the eco-tourism industry in the county to help local residents.
