China reports 50% surge in express deliveries

BEIJING - China's express delivery business has jumped 50 percent in H1 year on year, government data showed on Monday.
Private express delivery firms continue to expand with 5.9 billion deliveries handled during the period and revenues hitting 89.8 billion yuan ($14.6 billion), according the State Post Bureau.
The economically developed Yangtze and Pearl River deltas and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, shared 72.2 percent of the business.
In June, total express deliveries numbered 1.13 billion, a historical monthly high.
