105-year-old train station bids goodbye

After seeing the Datong-bound train 6087 depart at 3:06 pm on June 30, 2014, the epoch-making Zhangjiakou North Railway Station officially retired after over a century of service. Built in 1909, it was the north terminal of the historic Peking-Kalgan (Beijing-Zhangjiakou) railway, the first railway designed and constructed by Chinese without foreign assistance.
