China Cleaning Industry Association said in a report on Wednesday that concentrated detergents have performed well both in ability to do the task and environmental protection. The association made the announcement one day before the World Environment Day.

It said the production and transportation processes of concentrated detergents could significantly save energy and resource. Its application by customers in their daily life could also save water and electricity, as its consumption is much less than ordinary detergents on the basis of achieving the same performance, added the report.

However, many Chinese consumers still prefer ordinary detergents.

"The acceptance of concentrated detergents among Chinese customers is limited, mainly due to people's consumption and usage habits," said Zheng Wuhong, president of China Cleaning Industry Association.

"But the acceptance rate among the young and well-educated is much better," she added.
