Overseas returnees strive for dreams in Beijing

Editor's note: From 1978 to 2012, 1.09 million overseas students returned to China, and in 2014 the country is expected to embrace 335,000 to 358,000 more returnees, according to the Annual Report of the Development of Chinese Overseas Study published by Social Sciences Academic Press (China).
The photos below are people who have returned to Beijing, after their overseas experiences left them with deep and unforgettable impressions.
Having worked in the Children's Hospital Affiliated to the Capital Institute of Pediatrics in Beijing, Zheng Chunhua, 49 years old, is a pediatric cardiologist and director of the internal medical department. From Sept. 2006 to Oct. 2007, Zheng was a visiting scholar in a heart institute funded by the National Institutes of Health, Regional Heart Center of the University of Washington and the Seattle Children's Hospital. He was impressed by his U.S. counterparts' cutting-edge technologies, diverse research ideas and their enthusiasm towards philanthropy, such as their assistance to the handicapped. [Photo/Xinhua] |
