A shopping district was unveiled on Monday as the main commercial facility in a tourism area in Shanghai that also covers the Shanghai Disneyland project, which is slated to open at the end of 2015.
The outlet shopping district jointly developed by Shanghai Shendi Group, a stake-holding company specifically created by the Shanghai government to develop the Shanghai Disneyland project, and Value Retail, an outlet center developer.
The project, named Shanghai Village, will start operation in autumn 2015 and covers 50,000 square meters.
"Shanghai Village is the second iconic large-scale commercial project in the Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone following Shanghai Disneyland," said Fan Xiping, chairman of Shanghai Shendi Group.
"We believe it will provide an excellent shopping experience for visitors from all around the world."
