China launches new search engine

BEIJING - A new Chinese-language online search engine Chinaso.com launched on Friday, marking China's first search service set up by the country's major news organizations.
Chinaso.com allows users to search articles from the country's newspapers and magazines.
Its service covers news, website, pictures, videos and maps, with 16 channels ranging from economy to sports and applications for mobile users.
The search engine was developed by an information technology company jointly founded by the country's four major newspapers, two news agencies and state television. The founders includes People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television.
