HANOI -- Mechanical devices, vehicles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other distinctive products of China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region are displayed in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on June 11-14.
Addressing the opening of the Guangxi trade fair on Tuesday, Zhang Xiaoqin, vice governor of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, emphasized that Guangxi and Vietnam have great potential for cooperation. The 2013 Guangxi products exhibition is expected to promote mutual understanding between the two sides' businesses.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa noted that China is one of Vietnam's major trading partners, with bilateral trade turnover reached over $41 billion in 2012.
Vietnam has remained to be the largest trading partners with Guangxi for the past 14 consecutive years, Thoa said, adding that since 2004, the trade fair has become a key activity to boost trade exchanges between the business communities of Vietnam and China, and Guangxi in particular.
According to statistics, during the seven trade fairs held so far, the value of signed contracts has exceeded $1 billion, attracting over 200,000 visitors.
During the four-day fair, about 110 businesses will showcase their products in 104 pavilions, covering an area of 5,000 square meters.
