HK stocks end almost flat - June 4

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks moved up 3.33 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 22,285.52 points on Tuesday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between a day high of 22,303.05 points and a day low of 22,178.65 points. Turnover shrank to HK$54.81 billion ($7.06 billion) from Monday's HK$59.22 billion.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 10.64 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 10,537.49.
Three out of four sub-indices lost ground, with the Commerce & Industry shrinking the most by 0.23 percent, followed by the Utilities, 0.06 percent and the Properties, 0.03 percent. The Finance sub-indice edged up 0.21 percent.
Banking giant HSBC gained 0.76 percent to close at HK$86.5. China Mobile, China's dominant mobile carrier ended down 0.09 percent at HK$80.55.
As for mainland lenders, ICBC, China's largest bank by market value, edged down 0.37 percent to close at HK$5.38, CCB, the country's second largest lender by market capitalization, decreased 0.16 percent to close at HK$6.26, BOC, one of the "big four", ended 0.27 percent higher at HK$3.69.
Local property developers lost ground. Sun Hung Kai, HK's largest property developer by market value, moved down 0.49 percent to close at HK$101.5, Cheung Kong properties, owned by billionaire Li Ka-shing, ended down 0.28 percent to HK$108.8.
PetroChina, the country's largest oil and gas producer, moved up 0.78 percent to HK$9.07. Sinopec, China's top refiner, gained 0.25 percent at HK$7.98.
