Spring planting, delayed for two weeks in the northeastern provinces because of excessive rain and snow, has progressed steadily, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Chinese farmers have planted 82.5 percent of the country's total grain growing area, 2.1 percentage points less than a year ago, according to the ministry.
