Netizens spent more time on mobile Internet terminals than personal computer Internet terminal in the first quarter of 2013, a report from Chinese web service provider Baidu Inc shows.
The amount of time spent on mobile Internet terminals was 29 percent higher than the time spent on PC terminals. Baidu said the difference is bigger than it was in the fourth quarter of 2012, the first quarter in which users were found to have spent more time on mobile Internet terminals, but Baidu did not provide specific figures.
The report said the development of micro blogs, web charts and mobile search engines has reduced people's reliance on Web browsers on PCs, and web browser use has declined since late 2012. Web browsers, as a means to retrieve, present and traverse information, are becoming less important to users.
