Along with the rapid development of technology, in industry, power, traffic and other fields, programmable electronic systems, often referred to as embedded systems, are becoming increasingly widespread in security and environmental sectors, according to specialists.
Embedded systems have changed the control of the industrial process and transformed security controls, experts at the TÜV SÜD Group, a Germany-based certification agency, pointed out during the Technology Fair at Shanghai International Exhibition Center, which opened last Thursday.
Meanwhile, along with embedded systems, manufacturers and operators of production facilities are facing a complicated and constantly changing industrial IT security environment. Numerous suppliers and greater security standards mean the need for embedded systems is growing, the experts said.
