Amway, the world's largest direct-selling company has organized another mass trip to Taiwan, the second in four years, to reward its most outstanding salesmen on the Chinese mainland.
About 12,000 people went on a trip to Taiwan in March, in five separate groups, which brought tourism revenues worth approximately $37 million to the island, said Martin Liou, vice-president of Amway Greater China Region on Wednesday.
Taiwan has witnessed a significant increase in mainland visitors since the island was opened to mainland tourists in July 2008.
The mainland was the largest source of tourists for Taiwan last year, accounting for 36 percent of all visitors. More than 2.58 million trips were made from the mainland in 2012.
