BEIJING -- Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday promised to budget all government expenses step-by-step in order to facilitate transparency.
The government will realize a complete, open, transparent and standard budget for all its revenues and expenses so that the public can effectively supervise, Li said at an anti-corruption meeting of the State Council.
All illegal and inappropriate government fees will be removed, he said.
"Government funds and public assets are the property of all taxpayers. No one has the right to embezzle, misuse or waste them," he said.
The government will reinforce its anti-corruption defenses by creating a tighter and more effective budget system, he said.
