Two major property firms see strongest sales in years

China Vanke Co Ltd and Evergrand Group, the two largest property companies in China, saw their strongest sales surge in years as the property market rebounded.
A statement released by China Vanke on Monday showed that the company's sales rose 56.31 percent year-on-year to 19 billion yuan ($3 billion) in January. Sales of floor area increased 35.38 percent to reach 1.6 million square meters.
The figures show that house prices rose significantly.
In 2012, China Vanke's sales exceeded 140 billion yuan, and it became the world's first property company to have annual sales over $20 billion.
Meanwhile, Evergrand Group's monthly briefing showed that its sales in January surged 226.1 percent to 7.25 billion yuan. Its sales of floor area jumped 212.9 percent to 1.16 million sq m.
