Women in Guangdong province spend more on shopping websites than women in other parts of the country, a report said.
The report found that women in Guangdong spent 30 billion yuan ($4.83 billion) online between December 2011 and November 2012.
They were followed by women in Zhenjiang and Jiangsu provinces, according to the Nanfang Daily, citing a report released by Taobao, a major Chinese shopping website.
About 2.68 million women in Guangdong placed 240 million orders at Taobao during the period, and bought 2.6 billion products.
Among the women in Guangdong, those in Guangzhou, the provincial capital, made up the largest group of online purchasers, at 740,000, the report said.
Those in Shenzhen generated the highest revenue, totaling 10.3 billion yuan.
