The Securities and Futures Commission has banned Wong Tang-chung, former executive director at Mega Capital Asia Co, from the industry for three years, according to a statement on the SFC website on Tuesday.
Wong was one of the two officers in charge of supervising Hontex International Holdings Co Ltd's listing application and failed to "properly and adequately supervise the transaction", the statement said.
Wong refused to accept the responsibility for the listing and claimed he took a secondary role, the SFC said.
Hontex's shares have been suspended since March 2010 after the fabric manufacturer was accused of issuing misleading and fraudulent information during its IPO process.
