The 3rd Annual Global Green Economy Prosperity Forum, themed "Business transformation of green economy in the frame of global sustainable development", has kicked off at the China Hall of Science & Technology in Beijing and will run from August 22 to 23, 2012.
It is jointly hosted by the International Green Economy Association and China Green Carbon Foundation.
Zhang Yongli, vice-minister of the State Forestry Administration, mentioned in his speech that the development of modern forestry serves as an important support to the development of the green economy. The SFA will accelerate forestation and enrich forest resources as well as improve the forest management and quality.
Zhang also said that the SFA will improve the protection and management of ecological resources and restore the function of forests and wetlands, raising the proportion of forestry in green economy.
China Green Carbon Foundation also hosted a forum titled "Forestry in addressing climate change", which enabled experts and researchers to share their opinions on policies, global negotiations and development of programs regarding climate change.
Global Green Economy Prosperity Forum was established in the year of 2010. More than 2,000 leaders and experts from 12 countries and regions have attended the annual event for the past three years. It established the Global Green Fortune Club and set up green prosperity training for Chinese enterprises.
