China's postal industry revenue rose 24.4 percent year-on-year to 97.34 billion yuan ($15.45 billion) during the January-June period, said the State Post Bureau of China on July 18.
China's major logistic enterprises made about 2.4 billion deliveries in the first half year, a 51 percent rise on year, maintaining a more than 50 percent growth for 16 months, said the bureau. The boom of e-commerce fuels the rapid development of online purchase delivery, but inadequate delivery branches in remote areas limits the industry's development.
As much as 480 million yuan will be invested in building postal branches in remote areas including Xinjiang autonomous region, Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, said the bureau.
