BEIJING - Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Company will recall some of its Urban E25 passenger vehicles in China due to problems with the front-wheel hub bearings, China's consumer quality watchdog said Monday.
The recall involves a total of 253 vehicles produced between May 2001 and February 2010, according to a statement by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine.
Poor sealing of the hub bearing in the front wheels could lead to water leakage and consequently affect grease lubrication to create unusual noises and tremors, the statement said.
Nissan will replace the bearings with improved components to remove the defects and it will file notices to affected users starting on June 20.
