Beijing Hyundai to recall nearly 10,000 cars

BEIJING -- Beijing Hyundai Motor started to recall 9,280 MoInca vehicles over defective engines on Wednesday, China's quality watchdog said.

MoInca-model vehicles produced between August 1 and October 31 last year will be recalled, according to a statement posted on the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China's website.

The engines in question have faulty water temperature sensors, the statement said.

Beijing Hyundai will help consumers replace the faulty parts for free, the statement said.

Beijing Hyundai is a joint venture and subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd. and the Hyundai Motor Company.
