China's Feb auto sales down 33%

BEIJING - China's February auto sales fell sharply by 33.09 percent month on month to 1.267 million units due to the week-long Chinese Lunar New Year holidays, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said Wednesday.

The February auto output also dropped 29.89 percent from January to 1.26 million units, Zhu Yiping, assistant secretary-general of CAAM, told a press conference.

The February data took China's auto sales in January-February to 3.15 million units and output to 3.09 million units, according to CAAM.
