BEIJING - State-owned China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) plans to quadruple annual natural gas supplies to central Hubei province to 6 billion cubic metres (bcm) by 2015, a company newspaper reported on Thursday.

The level is roughly equivalent to current gas consumption in Beijing.

CNPC, which supplies more than 90 percent of the gas used in Hubei via listed PetroChina Co Ltd, was expected to supply 1.5 bcm of gas to Hubei this year, the China Petroleum Daily reported.
