PYONGYANG - A memorial ceremony for martyr Mao Anying was held at the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) cemetery in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province on Thursday, the 60th anniversary of his sacrifice.

Vice-Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Minister of the People's Armed Forces Kim Yong Chun, Minister of Public Health and president of the Korea-China Friendship Association Choe Chang Sik and Chinese ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai joined a delegation of the production group of the Chinese television drama "Mao Anying" in attending the ceremony.
Wreaths in the name of top leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Il, Chinese Embassy to the DPRK and the drama series production group were laid.
Kim Yong Chun said at the ceremony the DPRK would not forget the CPV's support. Many CPV martyears, including Mao Anying, gave their precious lives here.
The CPV fought with the KPA in the tough war and gained a glorious victory, making a great contribution to the peace of Asia and the world. Their heroic feats would not be forgotten by the people and army of the DPRK, he said.
