Over 570,000 Chinese students pursue overseas studies in 2025

More than 570,000 Chinese students pursued their education abroad in 2025, Wang Daquan, head of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange said on Friday.
Speaking at the 2026 China Study Abroad Forum held in Beijing, Wang revealed that the total number of Chinese students studying abroad reached 570,600 last year, while the number of students returning to China after completing their studies stood at 535,600.
"We have noticed that although the domestic and international environments are changing, Chinese students' willingness to study abroad remains strong," said Wang.
