Xi stresses developing real economy to build up national strength
TAIYUAN -- Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has stressed developing the real economy and making solid efforts to strengthen the nation and achieve prosperity.
Xi made the remarks during his inspection of a valve manufacturing company in Yangquan city, North China's Shanxi province, on Monday afternoon.
At the Yangquan Valve Co., Ltd., Xi inspected the production workshop, learned about the production and sales, and had a cordial conversation with workers.
"The real economy should not be abandoned, nor should the traditional industries within it," Xi said, while stressing industrial transformation and upgrading through technological innovation.
He urged solid efforts to realize Chinese modernization and ensure people live a happier life.
