Thunders to retire Nick Collison's No 4

WASHINGTON - The Oklahoma City Thunder will retire Nick Collison's No 4, the first in the franchise history, when they host the Toronto Raptors on January 20, the team annouced on Saturday.

"I am thrilled that Nick Collison will be the first Thunder player to have their number retired in Oklahoma City," Thunder Chairman Clayton I. Bennett said. "He has cemented himself as part of the fabric of this community and our organization by setting an example of commitment, hard word and authenticity. Congratulations Nick."

Collison was the drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 12th overall pick in 2003 and continued to play for the rebranded Thunder after the franchise relocated to Oklahoma City. He played his entire 15-year career for the organization before announing his retirement on May 20, 2018.

The power forward and center averaged 5.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 assist in his 910 regular season appearances with 69 double-double. During his 10 seasons in Oklahoma City, he helped the Thunder to register the second-best record in the NBA with 489 wins and 315 losses.
