Royal Scottish National Orchestra

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra's artistic team is led by Danish conductor Thomas Sondergard, who was appointed RSNO Music Director earlier this year, having previously held the position of Principal Guest Conductor. Hong Kong-born conductor Elim Chan succeeds Sondergard as the new Principal Guest Conductor. The RSNO performs across Scotland, including concerts in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Perth and Inverness. The Orchestra appears regularly at the Edinburgh International Festival, the BBC Proms at London's Royal Albert Hall and the St Magnus Festival, Orkney, and has made recent tours to the United States of America, Spain, France, China and Germany. The RSNO was an active participant in the cultural program of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, held in Glasgow and in the same year hosted the Ryder Cup Gala Concert at the SSE Hydro.

Historical Drama of Chengdu Qingbaijiang District Censor Zhao Bian of Song Dynasty

In the first year of Zhihe (1054), Zhao Bian is appointed as an imperial censor. After he arrives there, Zhao dresses himself as average people and starts to investigate the Caoyun Wharf (Grain Pier). He learns that officials have controlled a courier station by the river to monopolize canal transport and embezzle public funds. He directly reports to Emperor Renzong of Song, and has the canal transport officials removed from office. After that, Zhao Bian sends in nearly two hundred memorials to the throne and gives advice on state governance, corruption control, talent recommendation and people's livelihood, etc. He gradually wins high acclaim from the emperor.
