A financial forum, jointly held by the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance at Shanghai Jiaotong University and the China Academy of Financial Research, is scheduled to be held on Saturday to discuss the prospect of global economic growth propelled by financial development and the responsibility of financiers.

Industry leaders, experts and professionals will explore the new development path for the world economy and the financial industry. While the year 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, forum attendants will also address difficult issues in the opening-up of China's financial sector in the hope of seeking practical solutions.

It has been 10 years since the financial crisis plagued the world. There are still some global economic and political uncertainties needing to be addressed. The industry professionals present at the forum will also discuss the possibility of recovery for the world economy.

Tu Guangshao, vice-chairman and president of China Investment Corporation, Stanley Fischer, former vice-chairman of the Federal Reserve of the United States and Howard Davies, chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland, will be present at the forum.
