Documentary on capital's development of reform and opening-up released in Beijing

A 40-episode documentary on the capital's development to display the achievements of the 40 years of reform and opening-up in China was released in Beijing on Monday.

Organized by the Beijing Municipal Government and Guangming Daily, the documentary series filmed 40 expats from 22 countries around the world.

"The documentaries present a more comprehensive national perspective to build a better-off society through the foreign experts' eyes," said Du Feijin, head of the publicity department for the Beijing Committee of the Communist Party of China. "At the same time, it promotes the capital's culture development via broadcasting."

The series will be aired starting Monday via the main websites from Beijing municipal government, Guangming Online and mainstream websites in China and overseas.

The expats' ages range from 30 to 70 years old, with one living longest in Beijing for 47 years.

For expats, it also provided a platform to showcase their feelings about the city.

Stephon Marbury, former NBA star and Beijing Honorary Citizenship holder, said that the city's development is charmed with magic.

"All things that happened in Beijing are positive," he said. "I can't pay back Beijing and China with my love."

The schedule calls for least one episode broadcast per day.
