A woman has been sentenced to 16 years behind bars for abusing her stepson.
The case in Weinan, Shanxi Province, created headlines in China last year amid reports the woman, identified only by her surname Sun, severely beat and berated her stepson, leaving the 6 year old with severe physical injuries, as well as mental anguish.
