China's 1st unified legal profession qualification exam concluded

BEIJING -- China's concluded its first unified qualification exam for legal professionals, with the second phase of subjective test being held Saturday.

Over 180,000 people took this phase of the exam, at 5,937 exam sites in 155 exam districts across China, including Hong Kong and Macao.

In five pilot exam districts including Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Suzhou and Huangshan, the subjective test is computer-based.

More than 470,000 people took the objective test section of the exam on Sept. 22.

Those who passed the first phase of exam became qualified to take the subjective test on Saturday.

China's unified qualification exam for legal professionals replaced the previous national judicial exams. The Ministry of Justice held 16 national judicial exams since it was adopted in 2002. A total of 6.19 million people sat the exams, with 888,000 passing.
