PARIS - Despite her first Champions League goal for Paris Saint-Germain, Chinese women's footballer Wang Shuang still feels that she needs time to adjust to her team.

"That goal was quite lucky," Wang recalled to Xinhua on Thursday, referring to her goal against Swedish outfit Linkoping in Champions League round of 16 first leg.

Wang fired a powerful shot outside the box in the 80th minute in Wednesday's duel, which ricocheted off a defender into the net, leaving goalkeeper to the wrong direction.

"I need to be more confident on the pitch. I should try more shots in the future, then I can get more chances," she said.

It was Wang's third goal since joining PSG in August. She scored a stunner in her debut early in September.

"The goal (against Linkoping) cannot say too much that I have performed or adjusted to the team quite well. I still need time and more effort for adjustment to team's style and my teammates," she pointed out.

However, the first Champions League goal still carries something for herself.

"As an Asian player, I think the goal is important for me to stay in hunt in European leagues," said Wang.

"It's not easy for Asian players to stay in Europe, partly due to cultural difference and languages.

"If I can score or assist teammates, that will be huge recognition to myself and greatly boost my confidence," she added.
