The bailu menu also comes with a dessert-a crepe-like wrap filled with sticky rice, candied fruit, fresh lily bulbs, lotus seeds and raisins that help to reinforce the spleen and lungs.

Costing 499 yuan ($72.7) per person, this exquisite bailu menu is unlikely to become a regular addition to one's healthy eating plans. But it is certainly worth checking out at least once because of the Jiaming Tea House's unique atmosphere and the intriguing finesse displayed in marrying gastronomy with TCM and Chinese culture.
