Vice-Premier meets with Russian president in Moscow

Chinese Vice-Premier Han Zheng met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday in Moscow, vowing to further enhance cooperation to promote bilateral ties.

Han delivered greetings from President Xi Jinping to Putin, saying Sino-Russian relations maintain a high-level development under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries.

Han said the two leaders met for the third time this year in Vladivostok and made important agreements that will lead to the strengthening of bilateral ties.

Putin said he and President Xi are "real good friends".

"We had a fruitful conversation a few days ago, and achieved some agreements to enhance our comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination," he said.

Putin said the mechanisms of cooperation between China and Russia help to push bilateral investment and energy cooperation into practical achievements, and accelerate the process of some major strategic projects.

Putin said both countries should maintain close coordination in the fields of digital economics, modern biotechnology, aerospace and high-tech.

Han co-chaired the 15th annual meeting of the China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee and the 5th China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee with his counterparts, Dmitry Kozak and Anton Siluanov, respectively, during his three-day visit from Sept 16 to Sept 18.

Han, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China is willing to implement these agreements and push the bilateral cooperation in investment and the energy sector.
