Shanghai Disney Resort's Inspiration Run draws 10,000
Shanghai Disney Resort concluded its 2018 Disney Inspiration Run on Sunday, the first of its kind in Disney’s latest themed entertainment area.
The two-day event witnessed over 10,000 runners participate in three routes with different lengths, spanning from 3.5 kilometers and 5 kilometers to 10 kilometers.
“We are so proud to be able to fulfill our commitment to bringing such a special experience to thousands of Disney fans and sports enthusiasts,” said Philippe Gas, general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort.
“Seeing all of our runners striving for their personal bests and pursuing a healthy lifestyle while immersing themselves in our signature Disney storytelling environment is the thrill of a lifetime,” Gas said, adding more running events are expected in the years to come.
Beloved Disney characters, such as classic Disney princes and princesses like Prince Charming and Snow White, and Judy and Nick from Disney blockbuster Zootopia, made special appearances throughout the route, cheering on and motivating participants along the way.
According to the company, the first 50 male and female runners of the 5km and 10km races will be granted automatic entry into the Mini Marathon and 10km events at the 2018 Shanghai International Marathon, which will be held on Nov 18.
