Madame Tussauds Beijing recently unveiled a waxwork replica of Chinese singer Zhang Wei, sporting his classic grin, dressed in a colorful T-shirt and black jacket, holding his arms open.

Located in Beijing's historic Qianmen Street, the museum is a popular attraction for people to admire waxwork figures of their idols from both home and abroad, such as Leslie Cheung.

Zhang said the waxwork figure bore a close resemblance to him and that he hoped fans would enjoy the museum's new augmented reality experience.

He was impressed by the professionalism of the staff at the museum, who performed a hair transplant on the wax figure one hair at a time.
