SHENZHEN - Five suspects in connection with a jeweler robbery case in Hong Kong have been captured in South China's Shenzhen city, police said Monday.

A jewelry and watch store was raided in Tsim Sha Tsui district of Hong Kong on the morning of July 1, with 33 luxury watches and six bracelets worth 23 million Hong Kong dollars ($2.9 million) stolen.

In cooperation with their counterparts across the border in Hong Kong, police in Shenzhen caught three suspects, including two men from Hong Kong, in Longgang District on July 17. They also seized 12 watches and HK$1.74 million in cash.

Another two men, who allegedly helped sell the stolen goods, were apprehended later in Luohu and Futian districts. Several other suspects were captured in Hong Kong.

Further investigation is underway.
