Have you ever visited dinosaurs in a museum to see marvels from our prehistoric past? With guidance from Wang Qi, an assistant professor in the University of Nottingham, we've collected some images showcasing the wonders of natural history exhibitions around Europe.

The Gallery of Evolution, National Museum of Natural History

Paris, France

Established: 1793

The Gallery of Evolution of the National Museum of Natural History does not appear eye-catching from its outward appearance, but it houses one of the world’s largest collections of animals, insects and sea creatures where people can get up close, Wang said.

The building's large atrium has been divided into several exhibition spaces based around themes of "under the sea, on the land and in the air".

"People who stroll through the museum might have a chance to enjoy a multi-sensory 'reality' experience of nature, and see the way different light textures produce dramatic special effects," Wang explained.
