Beijing Television's Kaku Children Channel has launched a children's reality show, entitled, Amazing Change, in which child singers perform classic Chinese folk songs with new musical arrangements.

The show premiered on July 1, and will be aired weekly on Sundays.

The reality show will present 24 songs performed by 16 singers, including Chinese-Canadian singer Hao Yujie, who sings the hip-hop version of classic Chinese folk song, Ying Shan Hong, written by Lu Zhuguo and Fu Gengchen and originally performed by Deng Yuhua in 1974. Adinada from Malaysia sings Sea of My Homeland, first performed by veteran singer Zhu Mingying in 1982 and written by Wang Liping.

The reality show, marking the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, aims to popularize classic Chinese folk music among a younger audience by delivering them as more contemporary productions.
