China has 3.4 mln doctors, 3.8 mln nurses

BEIJING - As of the end of last year, China had nearly 3.4 million doctors, 3.8 million nurses and 987,000 medical and health institutions, according to the country's health authority.
By the end of this month, the registration and record management of all medical institutions, doctors and nurses nationwide will have gone digital, said Guo Yanhong, a senior official with the medical service management department of the National Health Commission.
China started to digitalize the registration and record of medical institutions and workers in April last year.
Some basic information about institutions and practitioners is also available to the public.
