THE HAGUE - The van driver who hit pedestrians and killed one person and wounded three others in Landgraaf, southern Netherlands, on Monday had no terrorist motive, the Dutch public prosecutor stated Tuesday after initial investigation.

The investigators continue their investigation, and hearings of witnesses and suspect.

At around 4 am on Monday, a van hit a group of visitors of the Pinkpop musical festival in Landgraaf, in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, killing one man and leaving two men and one woman severely injured.

The 34-year-old suspect from Heerlen, also in Limburg, drove away after the incident, but called the police himself and was arrested in Amsterdam.

The reason why he had moved to Amsterdam, over 200 kilometers from Landgraaf, is not yet known. The suspect's father told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad that his son worked in Amsterdam.

Witnesses told the newspaper that the victims of the incident were sitting on the road that night and that the suspect might have not seen them in the dark.
