A children's choir in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region is boosting the spirits of the people in the area

The Sonid Children's Choir was established in September 2017. It comprises 46 students from the Sonid Right Banner's Mongolian Elementary School and the Third Elementary School in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

It is a Mongolian choir, and they usually practice in their own schools and get together on weekends.

The choir was formed by Sod, director of the local youth activity center, and Batchiluu, 80, captain of Ulan Muqir (Red Bud Troupe), the Mongolian name for traveling troupes, who travel from one grazing site to another to perform for those who live in some of China's most remote areas.

Shortly after the choir was established, President Xi Jinping sent a letter to the Ulan Muqir team.
