Chengdu doctor detained on suspicion of raping patient

A male doctor has been accused of raping a female patient after giving her a sedative at a hospital in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.
Police said on Wednesday they received a call on May 10 about an alleged rape at Hengkang Hospital, a private clinic in the city’s Shuangliu district.
A 35-year-old suspect, surnamed Luo, was detained around noon on May 12 in nearby Nanchong.
Police say Luo has confessed to injecting the woman with a dose of sedative in a treatment room and raping her while she was unconscious.
