Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended an exhibition featuring the Palace Museum's cultural creative products in Tokyo on May 10.

During the event, museum director Shan Jixiang introduced the showpieces to Li and Abe.

A series of high-quality cultural creative products, including new technique-infused designs, porcelain pieces, wood sculptures and bronze and lacquerwares, were shown to the two prime ministers.

Li and Abe also watched the video Digital Palace Museum, a joint production of the two countries.

Li said the exhibition breathes new life to the cultural relics and praised the cooperation in cultural fields between China and Japan. He added the cultural exchange is an important part of the 2,000 years of relations between the two nations. This should provide more opportunities for mutual cooperation, he said. China and Japan should enhance cultural exchanges based on the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship, attracting more people and giving a boost to relations.

Premier Li hopes the cultural industry could be a new field for cooperation. The two nations should learn more about each other to ensure a long and healthy relationship.
