Top 10 customized travel destinations in Europe for Chinese tourists

The number of customized tours by Chinese tourists grew 130 percent year-on-year, according to the first Customized Travels of Chinese Visitors in Europe report, jointly released on April 16 by online tour provider Ctrip.com and the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute. But the two entities did not provide concrete data on how many such tours were made in 2016.

European countries accounted for 10 percent of all destinations chosen for tailor-made tours.

In addition to their bespoke nature, main features for these trips included being in-depth, private, niche, slow-paced and focused on leisure.
