Chinese premier congratulates new Azerbaijan PM

BEIJING - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to Azerbaijan's new Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov, expressing the hope that the two countries would push for new progress in bilateral cooperation.

The two countries should also work together on the Belt and Road Initiative to bring more benefits to their peoples, Li said.

Mammadov, a former foreign policy assistant to President Ilham Aliyev, was elected by parliament on April 21.
