KIEV - Eleven people were injured on Monday when a minibus collided with a truck in Ukraine's southern Black Sea resort of Odessa, according to local police.

Alla Marchenko, spokesperson for Odessa patrol police, told local media that the accident occurred at 6:30 am local time (0330 GMT) in the city center, causing an overturn of both vehicles.

According to results of preliminary investigation, the collision happened due to violating traffic rules by the minibus driver, who did not yield the right of way to the truck.

Local media also reported that a six-year-old child was among the injured.

In January and February, 363 people were killed and over 3,700 were injured in 21,500 road accidents in Ukraine.
