Shanghai Stock Exchange sees higher ratio of orders from institutional investors

BEIJING - The Shanghai Stock Exchange saw an increasing ratio of orders from institutional investors last year, the institution said in a report.

The overall market quality index has risen to a record high of 556 points in 2017, up 19.8 percent year on year, according to the report.

The Shanghai stock market saw similar liquidity conditions in 2017 as with the previous year.

Meanwhile, market fluctuations eased last year as all the three indexes measuring fluctuation conditions fell year on year.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose by about 6.65 percent year-on-year in 2017.
